Hot & Cold Pad with Hands-Free Cover - Large
Ice and heat are excellent recovery tools, and our Hot & Cold Pad is a serious upgrade: It's large, slightly flexible even when frozen, and works for both hot and cold therapy. It's also hands free: the cover straps wraps around your body so you can keep the pack in place throughout your icing or heat sessions.
Appropriate whether your goal is to manage post-workout soreness and support healing, reduce pain, or recover from injury or surgery.
About our hot /cold pack:
- Large sized pad is big enough to cover your back, knees, shoulder, or hips. Measures 37.5 x 27.5 cm
- Design is thin and lightweight
- Freezes within 1-2 hours and stays cold throughout a 20 minute icing session
- Retains some flexibility even when frozen so you can shape the pack to your body
- Can be placed in the microwave for heat treatment. Heats up in about 2 minutes and stays hot for your full 20 minute heat therapy session
- Versatile pack replaces both an ice pack and a hot water bottle or heat-up beanbag
- Reusable
About the strapping cover:
- Removable strapping is mesh on one side (to keep you cold or hot) and insulated on the other (to help conserve the pack temperature and protect you from condensation)
- Straps are elastic velcro material so you can shape and tighten the pack to fit your body
- Long straps are designed for versatility. Use them to wrap the pack around your knee, shoulder, elbow, back, hip, and more
- Cover measures 37.5 x 30 cm. Straps measure 71 cm when unstretched
- Pack can be removed from the cover and used without strapping
About icing and heating:
- Cold therapy reduces swelling and inflammation and is an excellent tool for treating injury
- Heat therapy increases bloodflow to muscles, helping them relax, and is ideal for treating muscle pain and stiffness
- Alternating hot and cold therapy can bring together the benefits of both therapy types and may help you heal faster
To use:
- Remove the cover to freeze or heat up. The pack will freeze from room temperature in about 2 hours. It will heat up in a microwave on a high power setting in about 2-3 minutes
- Place the heated or frozen pad in the cover and wrap the straps around your body, securing in place with the velcro strap attachments
Both hot and cold therapy are excellent tools to treat different types of muscle tightness, pain, and injury. Always follow the instructions of your doctor, physio, or medical professional before using hot or cold therapy. If you're injured, you may be advised to wait 48 hours before applying heat. As with any heating or cooling product, please be aware of the risk of scalding, burns and frostbite. Always check the temperature of the pack before applying, consider using it over a layer of thin layer of clothing, and apply ice or heat only for the recommended timeframe (for example, 20 minutes) to avoid complications. When heating in a microwave, check the pad at regular intervals and do not overheat. Do not use if broken. Kindly be advised that products are used at the user's own risk.
